I have loved photographing this sweet family over a few shoots. Their kiddos are highly entertaining and I can definitely count on them for some adorable pictures! Vanna and Adam are wonderful parents and are a blast to be around! So excited to photograph their big day next year!
This family is one I am very grateful to know. They lived overseas and taught in Korea, just like my husband and his family, which meant that through marriage, I got to meet them! Emily and Nicole are the most wonderful people; both amazing leaders, role models, and such beautiful examples of what it looks like to care, love, and walk with those around you. And then you meet Lori and Kerry and you understand where they got these beautiful hearts from. Not only are they two incredibly gifted educators and visionaries, but they are also such welcoming, loving, and generous people. So thankful to know them and loved photographing their beautiful family!
In December, some good friends of mine held a Dressember Fundraiser. I donated a family portrait to add to their auction, and this wonderful family got it! We had a great time exploring the icy trails of Derby Reach and laughing at these kids’ goofy faces!
Thanks for all the fun Wiens family!
I knew when Sarah asked me about doing these photos, it was going to be a blast. Her family is full of a bunch of crazies which always makes for the best photos… 🙂 We got to explore the snowy trails at Crescent Park, which came at the cost of some frozen limbs, but made for some beautiful backdrops!
And then there are the brothers… 🙂
Always good to take a moment and frolic in the field…
These two felt a little left out on all the “forehead to forehead” action so I let them have their brotherly moment…
Thanks for all the fun Race + Restons!
It seems like just yesterday that I was photographing this family and they gave me the biggest heart-stopping moment. Mid-way through our shoot, they asked to pause for a few minutes as they had something they wanted to add to the photo. They then pulled out a baby outfit and held it up. It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to clue in to the fact they were making a baby announcement! I was so pumped for them and now, we are just a few weeks away from getting to meet their baby! Despite the fact we were freezing, this shoot was a blast, as it always is when it involves the White clan!
Curious as to why they were laughing? My husband came along for the adventure and ended up being on babysitting duty while I stole their parents for a few shots. It was quite the entertainment… 😉
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Brae Island has been lots of fun to photograph families at this fall! It has such beautiful trees, colourful leaves, and the breathtaking scene of the river as a backdrop. The Appleton family was so fun to walk around with during this shoot. Their kids are full of energy and they clearly have so much fun together as a family!
Lately, I have been loving fall family shoots in Fort Langley. The colourful trees, crisp air, and overcast skies have been so refreshing. But the best part of all has been the wonderful families I have been photographing lately and the Kaila family were certainly no exception! Their kids were a clear reflection of the loving parents that they have. I always find taking photos of just the kids to be so entertaining. Without fail, it usually means the parents stand behind me and fulfill their parental obligations of making their kids smile. This usually produces strange noises, faces, and well, pretty much anything when it comes to desperate measures. These parents totally rocked that role and had me laughing many times! Thanks for all the fun, Kaila family!
Last year, while I was doing my teaching practicum, I got to meet Sabrina. She worked part time in another classroom and became such a source of encouragement for me. She spoke such assurance into my life; letting me believe I was capable of being a great teacher. She was right there with me in my process of applying to schools and always celebrated in my triumphs. I am so thankful for the friendship I was able to have in her last year, and now so thankful I got to meet her beautiful family! They are raising their boys to be such gentlemen – a true testament to incredible parents.
In the teaching profession, I am always so thankful to find people I can learn from and call mentors. Just over a year ago, I started my final year in my education degree known as my “PYP.” It just so happened that I ended up doing my practicum at the same school that Christie Fehlauer taught at. Over the year, I learned so much from her about how to teach with excellence, how to love the Lord through what you do, and how to live a balanced life. I am forever thankful for her friendship and now, the time I’ve been able to spend meeting her family!
