Kyla and Adam are the type that can make each other laugh on the spot and can’t stop looking at each other – it’s the best (and makes my job super easy!). We had a great time exploring a new park and finding some beautiful spots! Kyla and I were also quite entertained by Adam’s attempt of walking through a marsh “gracefully” which ended with him being about a foot deep in mud… it’s all about creating memories, right?
The best types of couples are the ones who can keep smiling in the rain! Katie and Dylan embraced the cold, wet weather, by holding each other close and giving each other some big, warm hugs. I think we could all learn a lesson or two from them! I had a great time adventuring the park with these two!
I’ve always known that I love shooting in Golden Ears, but during this shoot, I realized how much I love shooting in Golden Ears with two people who have never been there before! Seeing the awe on Tamara and Landon’s faces as we walked through the lush forests reminded me to not take this for granted. We certainly are lucky to live in a place where this is our backyard! And I am lucky to get to photograph couples as awesome as these two!
These two are already rockin’ the world of being engaged. It hasn’t even been a week and they have gotten engaged, done engagement photos, and will have their collection tomorrow. That’s efficiency at it’s finest!
It was so fun getting to explore the beauty of Pitt Lake with Ashton + Hana. They are an absolute blast to be around and are both beautiful free-spirits! They managed to make my job insanely easy as they literally couldn’t help but smile as they looked at each other.
Hana’s from the States, and they are having the wedding down there next year. They wanted their engagement photos to be in a place that represented Ashton and I think we did a pretty good job of getting the ‘West Coast Vibe!’ We all know that you can’t go wrong with choosing Pitt Lake as your location spot!
Here’s to this awesome couple and the beautiful journey in front of them!
It was a super exciting day when I received a message from Adrienne asking about wedding photography. We went to the same Church a few years ago and I was so excited to hear that she was engaged (the extra hilarious part was that I didn’t even know she was dating, so being her photographer has meant a GREAT opportunity to catch up on life!).
We had a great time finding so many beautiful places at Whonnock Lake, while I got to hear their beautiful story! It was easy to tell that making each other smile is certainly not a problem!
These two are kicking off my 2018 wedding season as they are getting married in just a few short months – can’t wait!
These two are the type of people who make you feel more alive when you’re around them. They have an insane ability to love people, to care for others, and to make every single person they encounter feel so valued. I absolutely LOVED hanging out with them as they are two beautiful human beings – wow (plus they’re super cute and adorable in pictures…:)
I know those of you who know these two will be melting at every photo you see, simply because of the joy I know we all have about the fact they are getting MARRIED! It really is the best when you see two amazing people come together and decide on forever.
One of my favourite parts of the night was at the end when we took a polaroid. They explained that they have taken one on almost every date they have been on over their time together. When I asked them why they started this tradition, they gave the most beautiful answer, “Because a polaroid can never be perfect. It just captures the moment as it.” As a wedding photographer who spends countless hours editing photos, I loved the powerful reminder of this: Sometimes, a moment is best enjoyed, not perfected. I love how these two do life in the most authentic, pure, raw way, that may not be perfect, but it sure is worth capturing.
It seems like a fool-proof plan to do engagement photos during a summer evening at Stanley Park. From the seawall, to the unique landscapes, to the beautiful backdrops, it is simply stunning!
I’ve done a lot of shoots over the last few years, but this one definitely goes down as one of the most memorable! When we were planning our location, we had first decided to go to Kits beach but got out, saw how busy it was, and decided to go to Jericho instead. By the end of the night, we were definitely glad we had made this decision! Not only were there stunning backdrops, but we also came at the perfect time…
While we were shooting, we heard an explosion and then saw lots of smoke. Within seconds, we were running towards the smoke and I was quickly getting Dan + Steph posed. While it seemed like everyone else was trying to avoid the area, we were using, what we discovered to be a shooting of Deadpool2, to our full advantage! It just so happens that they were filming a scene that involved shooting several cannons, and it gave us the most beautiful smokey setting!
Needless to say, at the end of the night when we hopped in the car, we couldn’t stop laughing at the coincidence of how all the timing worked out. And the bonus was that these two were an absolute blast to shoot!
Shoutout to Deadpool2 for perfectly timing your scenes to match our shoot – we appreciate it! Steph and Dan – so pumped for your wedding in just a few short MONTHS!
These two are some of my favourite people which means that being their photographer is the BEST. Here are some of the reasons why:
- They can’t look at each other without bursting out laughing
- No matter how horrible Garett’s jokes are, Sidsel still laughs
- They find so much genuine joy in all the little things in life
- They have a super cute dog that was pretty great at posing
- They are all about authentic (the laughing was legit laughing, I promise)
- They are getting married NEXT SUMMER! Wahoo!
- They laugh a lot…did I mention that already?
Seriously love you two together.
